Difference between House and Home

So, here I come again! After quite a long time but I was quite busy lately. This time, its an essay written by my friend, but its still a lovely essay and I believe I must post it.
The topic is Difference between Home and House

Is there a difference between a house and a home?
Let's see.....

A house and a home - Two words with very different meanings. Most of the time, their meaning is regarded the same. If you have a house, you have a home, that’s what people think. But this is a false statement. A house is nothing but a material thing, something that can protect us from the scorching sun or a terrible storm. People believe that the bigger their house is, the wealthier they are and the happier the home is.

A home is totally different. A home is where your true happiness lies, a sacred sanctuary where your role joy resides. The comfort and happiness doesn’t mean that you have a big house, the happiness lies in the family that lives in the house. If you are happy, you are home. Maybe that is the reason why they say “Home is where the heart is”. Have you ever heard of the statement, “The House is where heart is”? It sounds strange, don’t you think?

Happiness binds a home. You can buy a big, fancy house with money, but not a happy home. That is the reason why celebrities file divorces, move out and all that nonsense. From the outside, their houses might seem grand, but what about the inside? I would like to share with you a personal experience. One of my family members spent millions and millions of cash in building a big house. He lives by the motto “The bigger the house, the happier the home.” What he doesn’t understand is that a big house doesn’t guarantee a happy home. It saddens me sometimes, when I look at people less fortunate than I am, living is a humble house but the family seems so happy. As I said earlier, it just a personal experience. There might be a lot of other people like him.

So, a big, seemingly happy house doesn’t guarantee a happy home. People think that if you have a house, you have a home and that a house is just a materialistic item while a home is the joyous family. Well, if you have a house doesn’t guarantee that you have a home. What is you are still single with a house. You don’t have a home. But on the other hand, if you are happy with your family, although you don’t have a house, I think its worthy to be called a happy home.

If, for example, someone says that a family is ‘homeless’, what do you think? Is it the fact that they don’t have a home or a house? Of course they mean that the family doesn’t have a house. A house is merely just PROTECTION. A home is HAPPINESS.

So, in conclusion, I say that there is a wide gap of difference between a house and a home. Saying that a house and a home are similar is just like saying that the North Pole is similar to the South Pole. Pointless and totally wrong. So, it’s fine if your house is not big, or regal or fancy. As long as you are happy, you're home.

Hope it helped! :)

I Wish I could Undo Life

This time its a not-so-common topic but will still help you.
Enjoy reading it! :)

My Deepest Desire
“Oh! What a wonderful name you have, my darling....” This statement, made by my grandmother eons ago, never made sense to me. I never understood what she meant by a wonderful name. My mother told me that my name was very special. It meant desire. I had not taken it in then but now lying on my death bed, I realized what it meant. My deepest desire at this moment was to ‘Undo’ life. Just like Microsoft Word and Microsoft Paint has an Undo button and all the mistakes are cleared, I wish life had an ‘Undo’ button and I could erase all my mistakes and die with no regret.
In my life, I have made many mistakes. First and foremost, my biggest mistake was that I was over-ambitious. I was born in a small town of Gujarat and father had left me at a very young age only leaving a huge debt for my mother. From a very young age, life had taught me that the world with money. Without money, you are nothing. Due to this, my ambition was to become a huge businesswoman but I made a mistake. My ambition and passion got combined. I moved too fast. For my ambition, I dragged my best friend into this and lost him. We both no longer talk to each other. That – was the FIRST mistake of my life.
Life still went on. Due to my arrogant nature, I blamed him for the split between us. The business that we opened together was in a state of jeopardy. I, alone had to handle the entire business. I worked with a stride in my step and took the business to greater heights. I got lots of money and achieved great fame. I stood on the first step to success when my photo was published on the front page of The Times of India. Then, fame just came like Treat Candies at Halloween. I was among the top fifty business tycoons listed in the TIME Magazine. Reporters from all over the world came to interview me. It was too much for me to handle and I soon drifted away. I  started treating my family members as low-society, middle-class people and did not give them respect. Soon, I lost them too and was left all alone. That- was the SECOND mistake of my life.
Now, as I reflect upon life, I realize that all my mistakes  were the same. Never, did I care to wait and make errands. Now, I have everything but nothing. I am the girl who opened the Pandora’s box and just like the Gods, I too am clinging onto hope- Hope for FORGIVENESS.

Greed Changed Life

Hey again!
So, I come again with another essay. The topic is Greed Changes Life. Well, all of us need a push to do something. Most of us have to be black-mailed in order to do a task - If you will do this- I will give you that. Is this good or Is this bad? Lets have a look!

What is greed? In simple words, the want of something is known as greed. It is a desire to have more than what is needed. Greed is the direct opposite of contentment. It makes a person feel that something is missing, something is less. It does not allow a person to feel satisfied. The person always feels that he has less than what he deserves. Greed can vary from a small want to a really large wish. But is greed just an escapee from the Pandora’s box that has destroyed the world? Yes, it is true that greed has led to the destruction of man but can greed not be a method to the construction of man. If greed has destroyed something, can it not be that greed has brought it back again.
At present greed of man for money has led to making and selling illegal nuclear arms and ammunition  attacking another country, building millions of factories, killing millions of innocent people and much more. This has caused pollution, unhappiness, anxiety, and much more. Now, people are feeling bad for what they have done, they wish to get their old life back. The greed to have things the way they were before, where there was only happiness and no fear, has caused man to make amends. They cannot change what they have done but they can surely make amends and stop doing it. When a thief is caught, the want of not being sent to jail, leads him to surrender. The terrorist who killed millions of people do not wish to lose their life and hence surrender. The greed for life has caused him to stop doing what he did.   If the greed for money has led to destruction of man, the greed of life has led to the construction of a better man.
Greed is portrayed as a bad quality but if this bad quality has worked out for a good cause, how is it a bad quality? If the want of good marks makes a student study properly, then how is the greed bad? It has finally changed the life of the student for the better. It is greed that has caused the progress of man. If the world had no greed at all, it would have come to a standstill. Everyone would have been contented with what they had and they would not have ever tried to be better than what they were. Nobody would even care to try. Would a dead world be better than a world with competition?
